Submitting Original Documents to Port Health during the COVID-19 Outbreak

As you are aware Port Health require submission of original documents for imports of the following:

  • Products of Animal Origin
  • High Risk Food and Feed Not of Animal Origin
  • Wild caught fishery products requiring catch certificates
  • Plastic kitchenware from China and Hong Kong
  • Organic food and feed

There have been some easements put in place during the COVID-19 outbreak however as we continue to return to ‘normal’ working life we need to update the requirements.

From 1st August 2020 we will require the following to be submitted to us:

If due to COVID issues in the country of origin the original certificate is not available at the time of import then there are two easements at present:

If the certificate was produced on TRACES-NT then we will accept the certificate shown on TNT.

If the certificate was not produced on TRACES-NT, we will accept a colour copy of the certificate emailed directly from the third country competent authority to edocs@scpha.gov.uk with the container number included in the email heading.

If it is necessary for you to use one of these easements you will need to provide with the CVED a request to release on copy documents. The request must include information as to the whereabouts of the original certificate and a guarantee that the original will be submitted without delay as soon as it is received.

Please note that these easements may be withdrawn at any time.
