Automatic Licence Verification System - ALVS is a messaging system that electronically matches Customs entries with the results of checks carried out by other inspection authorities.

Commercial document providing a general description of the cargo items
BIP
EU Border Inspection Post situated at a seaport or airport or international rail or road link

Common Entry Document - a document used to submit a controlled food import for checks.  It also records the outcome of the  border checks carried out.  This document should be submitted on the TRACES system.
CEFAS

Consignment
Consignments can consist of one type of product, or a number of different types of products, which is covered by the same health certificate and/or airway bill or bill of lading. See legal definitions in POAO Regs and IUU Regs. as appropriate.
CoP
Code of Practice issued under the Food Safety Act 1990, the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006 and the Official Feed and Food Controls (England) Regulations 2009.
CVED
Common Veterinary Entry Document a document issued at BIP that verifies legal import of POAO.
